AURA is an
"adults only" product in Mexico and specifically on the island of Cozumel where
there is nothing else like it on the island. AURA is the flagship of a complex
of adjacent resorts under the Illusions and Wyndham banner. AURA's theme is
couples only/adults only.
This in NOT a nudist resort so please don't
expect it. AURA is all inclusive in concept for adults couples only so you will
want for nothing.

Department about Mexico The alerts concern primarily the border
areas between the U.S. and Mexico. Alerts do not include Cancun, Cozumul, Cabo,
Puerto Vallarta, Manzanillo or similar tourism centers. The primary concerns
are on the border of Mexico along the state lines of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona
and southern California.

AURA is a project of the resort chain, Wyndham Grand
Bay.
 This beachfront property
opened in 2008 and includes only 96 rooms, all appointed in cool colors and
fine amenities. AURA faces due west for spectacular roof top sunsets. Several
other vacation properties, a condo and other hotels are nearby in the Wyndham
complex.
We've been there and found the ambiance intimate although the
resort itself feels larger than 96 rooms. AURA is in a resort complex adjacent
to other vacation properties owned by the same investors; thus no nudity. A few
of the roof top, two bedroom suites have their own plunge pool, so you have
everything you need for a private party. The two-bedroom penthouse suites are
perfect for two couples who travel well together.

 Fly directly into Cozumel
with daily flights from most U.S. cities. Take a taxi or shuttle to the resort
about 30 minutes south of the airport.
If you're on the mainland, on
the Yucatan or Playa del Carmen, take a water taxi from the main pier at Playa
del Carmen across the bay to San Miguel. The trip, depending upon the wind and
weather, takes 30-45 minutes and costs less than $20 (price subject to change
without notice). A taxi stand is immediately in front of the ferry dock on the
main street in San Miguel.

fresh water pool/river, similar to Hidden Beach or El Dorado resorts on the
mainland.

 AURA includes dining on the
verandah at Hava Grill as well as in the upscale, fine dining restaurant called
Isola.
Four additional restaurants are adjacent and included in the
All-Inclusive "Endless Luxury Experience." They are located at the neighboring
Wyndham properties and are easily accessible. Here is a list of dining options

ISOLA - Aura's exclusive culinary offerings include the
"Isola" restaurant with unique italian-international fusion cuisine. A la carte
restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Casual ambiance.
LUNA LOUNGE - Aura's exclusive "Luna Lounge" Bar Air conditioned, open evening
to late night. Adults only - Dress code is required: Men - Long pants, Collared
shirts. No beach attire or flip-flop sandals.
HAVA GRILL - "Hava
Grill" overlooks the beach offering a variety of choices for lunch and dinner,
with Mexican and international options. No dress Code Required.
BRISAS - The Solarium and pool bar "Brisas" provides guests with an inviting
atmosphere that makes for easy relaxation and wonderful views. No dress Code
Required. In fact, it's clothing optional.

The shallow "mirror pool" welcomes couples just outside of
the resort's main reception area. The European Style main pool interlaces the
first level of suites with a "river-pool" that gently meanders around
 a central island garden granting access from the large
terraces of all first level suites. All suites have beautiful views of the
beach and sea.
Room rates range from $200-400person/night, vary
seasonally, are subject to change without notice. Special sales may also change
the room rate depending upon the season.
We think the most creative
accommodations are the rooftop, 2 bedroom solarium rooms with private, perfect
for two couples.

South Beach in crowd. From late 20s to 50s.

 AURA is one
slick resort for upscale couples who enjoy pampering and personal attention.
The meandering pool that links the separate hotel buildings together
is cool. If you're a guest in a Swim Up Suite, you're able to invite your
neighbors in for a drink while they float by.
What it's not: AURA is
not Hedonism or Desire with an hourly routine day and night although you can
participate in all the sports and activities offered. This property carves out
a niche all its own since it's more upscale than any of the other adults only
resorts.

Cozumel is noted primarily for what goes on below the
water's surface and not above it. While Cozumel's only little town, San Miguel,
has grown out of its sleepy, colonial britches the past 20 years, your major
tourist attractions are across the bay on the mainland of the Yucatan.
Shopping and bar hopping are two favorite past times in San Pedro.
